I have been interested in art making from the time I was a young child.

Drawing was a daily habit for me. Art making wasn’t my initial career choice so it was several decades before I went back to art making in a serious way. I started out with watercolor but branched out to acrylics, pastels and now oils. Soft pastel paintings are what I’m known for and for which I’ve received
several awards. My subject matter ranges from landscapes, still life to portrait and figure painting and drawing.

I don’t have a formal art degree but have studied with many artists both here in Canada and in the US.  One of the driving forces behind my art making is the urge and need to keep learning and developing. During the pandemic, the availability of online workshops became my lifeline to keep motivated and interested. I took advantage of this period and took a whole
series of workshops; primarily with Ingrid Christensen, Zoey Frank and Ed Praybe.

During the spring, summer and fall you might find me out and about in Winnipeg painting with friends. I fell in love with plein-air painting or painting on location several years ago when I attended a Plein-Air Festival in Door County, MI.
