I love to create semi-representational contemporary landscape and flower paintings primarily in oil and acrylic. I choose bold colour pallets that use expressive colour and light.  ​Having always been an admirer of the brushstrokes and techniques of Chinese/Japanese art – I will often incorporate some line work into my paintings that have been influenced by those cultures.    I don't see myself ever competing with a camera and am far more interested in evoking a mood.... often light-hearted and whimsical.
